Costs

You will need to purchase Tabletop Simulator on Steam (around £15 as of Nov 2023). You can check the price before going any further at https://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/Tabletop_Simulator/

There is no other cost involved in playing our online trial game.

1. Downloading & Setting up Discord to Join the Community

1. Navigate to the Discord Download Page: Open your web browser and visit https://discord.com/download.
2. Download Discord: Based on your operating system (Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.), click on the relevant download link.
3. Install Discord: Locate the downloaded file (usually in the ‘Downloads’ folder) and open it to begin the installation process. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
4. Create an Account: Once Discord is installed, launch the application. If you don’t already have a Discord account, click on “Register” and follow the instructions to create one.
5. Join the Community: Once logged in, search or use the link to join the Stratified Games commmunity.

2. Downloading and Setting up Steam

1. Navigate to the Steam Download Page: Open your web browser and visit https://store.steampowered.com/about/.
2. Download Steam: Click on the green “Install Steam” button. The appropriate version for your operating system should start downloading.
3. Install Steam: Locate the downloaded file and open it to start the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Steam on your computer.
4. Create a Steam Account: After installing and launching Steam, you’ll be prompted to log in. If you don’t have a Steam account, click on “Create a new account” and follow the instructions.

3. Purchasing and Installing Tabletop Simulator

1. Open the Steam Store: Once logged into Steam, click on “STORE” at the top to access the Steam Store.
2. Search for Tabletop Simulator: In the search bar, type “Tabletop Simulator” and press enter.
3. Purchase Tabletop Simulator: Click on “Tabletop Simulator” from the search results. Review the game details and click the “Add to Cart” button. Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.
4. Install Tabletop Simulator: After purchasing, you’ll be directed to your Steam Library. Find “Tabletop Simulator” in your game list, right-click it, and choose “Install”. The game will begin downloading and will install automatically once the download is complete.

4. Finding and Subscribing to Realms of the Ghost Machine in the Steam Workshop

1. Access Tabletop Simulator’s Workshop: With Steam open, hover over the “COMMUNITY” tab at the top and select “Workshop” from the dropdown menu. In the search bar on the right, type “Tabletop Simulator” and select it from the dropdown.
2. Search for Realms of the Ghost Machine: In the search bar on the Workshop page for Tabletop Simulator, type “Realms of the Ghost Machine” and press enter.
3. Subscribe to the Game: Once you locate “Realms of the Ghost Machine” in the search results, click on its title to access its Workshop page. Click the green “Subscribe” button. This will automatically download and add the game to your Tabletop Simulator library.
4. Subscribe to all the versions, which will mean you can choose your number of players. The current version is set up for a three-player game. For 4 to 6 player games, add the appropriate number of gaming pieces as described in the game’s rule book.

5. Play the Game

1. Launch Tabletop Simulator: From your Steam Library, click on “Tabletop Simulator” and then click “Play”.
2. Access Realms of the Ghost Machine: Once in Tabletop Simulator, click on “Create” and then “Multiplayer”. In the game selection screen, you should find “Realms of the Ghost Machine” under the “Workshop” tab. Select it, and you’re ready to play! Note: The game will open with a three-player set-up already in place. Follow rule book instructions to add tokens for 4 – 6 player set-ups. For a two-player game, simply remove 3 friendly spy tokens from the board before play.
